Hugs 'n Kisses - A Case Study

Franklin Direct’s interest in product research, development and procurement started when I visited China for the first time in 2004. It was apparent to me then that the Chinese manufacturing base was growing stronger and stronger and the effect on the global supply chain was altering and it seemed almost every second product was being produced and supplied out of Mainland China.

This realisation sent Franklin Direct down the course of product procurement. With the extent and range of the manufacturing options available I set about understanding the different areas within China that manufacture certain products.  Certain provinces have the experience and knowledge to produce a range of specialised products, for example, Shenzhen is known for the latest electronics, gadgets and is a centre of innovation.

With this learnt product procurement experience Franklin Direct has recently completed a large order of soluble paper products for a Hobart-based company, Hugs 'n Kisses. This order was the culmination of over 12 months of product planning, research, procurement, manufacturing, packaging and finally freight and logistics.

We were thrilled to work with a local Tasmanian company to fulfill their requirements and to meet their expectations for their new product line.

Hugs 'n Kisses is a thriving business supplying products into the craft industry at a local, national and international level and we are proud to work with them to supply.
